Parador de Ayamonte Huelva Province
Location The parador stands on the site of the old castle of Ayamonte which was originally a rock castle, and the village was built on the slopes of the hill on which the castle stood. From the parador location, there is a magnificent view of the river and the surrounding towns and villages along its banks, a view which at sunset becomes even more beautiful and unforgetable. Rooms All of the 54 rooms are double and those facing the front have a little balcony facing the river. The rooms facing the back have a coquette private interior patio. Restaurant The cuisine typical of Ayamonte consist of fish, shellfish and all type of sausage. La Raya en pimenton (stingray with red pepper) is outstanding and although the experts claim that it is best eaten in January it is delicious all through the year. El calamar relleno (stuffed squid) is another speciality. General Places of interest to visit nearby are Sanlucar del Guadiana, Rocio-Donana and Huelva mountain range.
